Central Florida community college in lockdown after threat
COCOA, Fla. (AP) — A community college along Florida's Space Coast is under lockdown after it received a threat of violence.
Officials with Eastern Florida State College on Tuesday posted an alert on the school's official Twitter account and on its website, saying someone had threatened gun violence at the Cocoa, Florida, campus. The warning urges students to stay inside and lock doors until further notice but gives no other details.
The notice said sheriff's deputies were investigating the threat.
The public college offers technical degrees and bachelor's degrees to students located primarily in Brevard County.
