Airlines Continue To Weigh In On Families At Border Following Executive Order [Beyond Education]

Delta and Southwest airlines issued statements regarding families being separated at the border following President Trump signing an executive order to keep families together at the country’s southern border while maintaining the current zero tolerance immigration policy. American, Frontier, Southwest and United airlines have all refused to fly immigrant children separated from their parents.

Delta and Southwest airlines issued statements regarding families being separated at the border following President Trump signing an executive order to keep families together at the country’s southern border while maintaining the current zero tolerance immigration policy.

Southwest’s statement reads that the airline does “not wish to have involvement in the process of separating children from their parents” and appeals to “anyone making those types of travel decisions” to not use their airline.

Delta’s statement calls the reports of children being separated from their families “disheartening” and that they “do not align with Delta’s core values.”  The airline also applauded the executive order. 

American, Frontier, Southwest and United airlines have all refused to fly immigrant children separated from their parents.

All have stated that they don’t want to be associated with separating families and that it is against their policy of bringing people together.

A Department of Homeland Security spokesman called this decision unfortunate.
