The Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism is introducing a new course in drone journalism. Drones have been beneficial to journalists to use the technology to report on devastation such as when Hurricane Michael hit the Florida panhandle. Students use drones as powerful new tools in their arsenal in collecting data and witness things they never could before from the ground.

Course Is Available In The Fall And Spring Semesters

The Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism is introducing a new course in drone journalism.

Drones have been beneficial to journalists to use the technology to report on devastation such as when Hurricane Michael hit the Florida panhandle. Students use drones as powerful new tools in their arsenal in collecting data and witness things they never could before from the ground.

Students interested in drone journalism at the Newmark J -School take a five-week class where they learn to fly the drones safely, legally and ethically. The course is available in the fall and spring semesters. Almost every organization has been using drones in one way or another and this course will help students become FAA-certified drone operators.
