The Ford Motor Company has made a donation to SUNY Canton’s automotive program. A late-model Ford Focus is being given exclusively for students to perfect their mechanical skills in order to prepare them for their future careers. The Focus now resides in the college’s Auto Lab where students will now gain hands-on access to the latest advancements made in motor vehicles.
Ford Donates Ford Focus To SUNY Canton’s Automotive Program
The Ford Motor Company has made a donation to SUNY Canton’s automotive program. A late-model Ford Focus is being given exclusively for students to perfect their mechanical skills in order to prepare them for their future careers.
The Focus now resides in the college’s Auto Lab where students will now gain hands-on access to the latest advancements made in motor vehicles. By donating the Focus, the Ford Automotive Career Exploration program hopes to raise awareness and increase interest in career opportunities within the automotive industry. The program’s mission is to promote engagement between educational institutions, franchised dealerships and local communities. Ford wants to grow and expand the quality mechanics in the workforce.
Additionally Steve Blevins of Blevins presented a monetary donation to the College Foundation to support the Leland Blevins Family Endowed Scholarship that annually awards a student entering the Automotive Technology program. The Focus joins a hybrid-electric SUV, sedans, trucks and many other Ford vehicles.
