At H.O. we congratulate new education leaders that have embarked on the challenging but very rewarding journey of education leadership.

David Fuentes
Stockton University appointed David Fuentes as the school’s new dean of the School of Education, effective April 6. Fuentes comes to Stockton with more than two decades of experience as a scholar and academic leader. Most recently, he was the associate dean of the College of Education at William Paterson University in Wayne. He is also a professor of Teacher Education and has extensive experience preparing primary and secondary educators. His professional service includes leadership roles with the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education and the Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation.

 

Vitaliano Figueroa
Roger Williams University (RWU) has announced the appointment of Vitaliano Figueroa, EdD, as the new vice president for Student Life, effective July 13, 2026. Figueroa’s career in higher education leadership spans more than 25 years, serving as vice president for Student Affairs at Valley City State University and assistant vice president for Student Affairs at San Diego State University. He currently serves as vice chancellor for Student Affairs at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse (UWL). He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science, his Master of Science in Human Development & Family Studies/College Student Personnel and served as an academic advisor at the University of Rhode Island. He earned his Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Argosy University.

 

Christopher M. Reber
The Harrisburg University of Science and Technology (HU) Board of Trustees announced the selection of Christopher M. Reber, Ph.D., as its next president, effective June 30, 2026. Dr. Reber previously served as president of Hudson County Community College (HCCC) in Jersey City, New Jersey, where he has led the institution to national prominence since 2018. Dr. Reber holds a bachelor’s degree from Dickinson College, a master’s degree from Bowling Green State University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh. He also holds a postgraduate certificate from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education.

 

Eddie Phillips
The Board of Trustees of National Louis University (NLU) has proudly named Eddie Phillips, Ed.D., as the university's next president. Phillips, who currently serves as the university's provost and senior vice president, joined NLU in 2021 as vice provost of Academic Programs and Accreditation.  Prior to joining NLU, Phillips served as vice president of Academic and Student Affairs at Kennedy-King College. Phillips has also served in leadership roles at Northern Illinois University, Malcolm X College, and Rush University Medical Center.  He holds a Bachelor’s and a Master of Arts in Sociology and Criminology, as well as a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Leadership and Administration from Northern Illinois University.
