“An Evening with Annette Bening” will take place at the San Diego Natural History Museum in Balboa Park on Thursday, September 20 at 6:30 p.m. to benefit the San Diego Promise.

Bening is an alumnus of the San Diego Community College District, as well as a four-time Academy Award nominee for her works in various movies including “Being Julia,” “The American President,” and “American Beauty.”

San Diego native Bening credits her highly successful acting career back to her time as a drama student at Mesa College.

The San Diego Promise was launched in 2016, enrolled more than 700 students last year and hopes to add several thousand new full-time students to the program this year. Bening is also a Promise donor.

The Promise was established to ensure that no deserving local students are denied the opportunity to earn a college education because of their lack of resources.
