The University of Nevada, Reno, Reynolds School of Journalism was just awarded a $50,000 Grand Prize for Innovation in Journalism Education from the Online News Association (ONA). ONA’s Challenge Fund recognizes the best implementation of a project. The prize is honoring Noticiero Movil, the student-run bilingual media newsroom at the Reynolds School.

Reno’s Journalism school is playing a leading role in the bilingual-media arena. Noticiero Movil partners with KUNR Reno Public Radio to produce both Spanish and English content for the northern Nevada and northern California communities.
Thanks to the school’s bilingual initiatives, they are able to train the next generation of bilingual journalists.
