UMass Officials Say Enrollment Set to Reach Record High

Officials at the University of Massachusetts say enrollment at the school is projected to reach a record high this year of 74,678 students across the school's five campuses in Amherst, Boston, Dartmouth and Lowell and Worcester. The school says student enrollment at UMass has risen almost 27 percent over the past decade.

UMass officials say enrollment set to reach record high

AMHERST, Mass. (AP) — Officials at the University of Massachusetts say enrollment at the school is projected to reach a record high this year.

President Marty Meehan announced in a statement Wednesday that enrollment is projected to reach 74,678 students across the school's five campuses.

The school says student enrollment at UMass has risen almost 27 percent over the past decade, from 58,939 students in the fall of 2006 to the current 74,678 students.

The University of Massachusetts is a public university with campuses in Amherst, Boston, Dartmouth and Lowell and a medical school in Worcester.
