UW Law School Plans $10M Expansion

Expansion To Coincide With College's 100-Year Anniversary

LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — The University of Wyoming is planning to expand its law school to coincide with the college's 100-year anniversary.

The Laramie Boomerang reported Thursday that the $10 million expansion plan is part of the University of Wyoming College of Law's celebration of its centennial in September 2020.

Law school Dean Klint Alexander told the board of trustees in May that the school in Laramie has raised $4 million for the project since November and he hopes $8 million will be raised within the first year.

The law school includes clinics that provide the state with $3.5 million of free legal services each year.

Officials say the renovation's primary intent is to bring the clinics into the law school building. Most are housed in the university's Federal Credit Union building.
