UC Helps Wildfires-Impacted Students

University Extends Undergraduate Application Deadline

The University of California has extended their undergraduate application deadline for students affected by the recent wildfires. They are delaying the deadline and granting fee waivers to those who are applying this fall.

“We know this is a tremendously difficult time for prospective students and their families who have been impacted by the devastating wildfires,” said UC President Janet Napolitano. “This is one small way the university can offer support.”

Students that are requesting the extension from November 30 to December 15, 2018 will have to create a UC application account for fall 2019, send an e-mail using “Extension Request- Weather/Fire Event” and the reason for the request. Once they receive a confirmation e-mail the fee waiver will cover up to four UC campuses application costs. UC campuses will make additional allowances to students that experience longer-term impacts of the wildfires if applicable.
