Teen Gets $1.2M In Scholarship Offers

Scholarships Are From More Than A Dozen Schools

DOVER, Del. (AP) — A 16-year-old Delaware girl has been offered $1.2 million in academic scholarships from more than a dozen universities and colleges.

Delaware State News reports Angelica Malone graduated with honors last month from Early College High School at Delaware State University.

Malone was homeschooled throughout middle school and started high school when she was 12 years old. She recalls trying to hide her age from her peers. She says she once lost a baby tooth in class and was able to conceal the offending clue without anyone noticing. She says, "you couldn't see it unless I smiled really big."

Malone is planning to attend Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania, to study psychobiology this fall. She has already earned 44 college credits and will be a college sophomore when she starts.
