Donald Trump has won the number of delegates needed for the Republican Party’s presidential nomination.

According to AP, Trump has a total of 1,238 delegates.  The number of delegates needed for the Republican Party’s presidential nomination is 1,237.

On the Democratic Party’s side, AP reports that Hillary Clinton now has a combined total of 2,305 pledged delegates and superdelegates, and Bernie Sanders has a combined total of 1,539 pledged delegates and superdelegates.  The combined total number of delegates and superdelegates needed for the Democratic Party's presidential nomination is 2,383.

The next round of presidential primaries is scheduled to take place on June 7.
