Cal State Fullerton celebrates Día de los Muertos — a Mexican holiday to remember friends and family members who have died — with two days of performances, arts and crafts, face painting and food. The Nov. 1-2 events are free and open to the public.

Cal State Fullerton celebrates Día de los Muertos — a Mexican holiday to remember friends and family members who have died — with two days of performances, arts and crafts, face painting and food. The Nov. 1-2 events are free and open to the public.

Highlights:

Tuesday, Nov. 1, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. — Quad

Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlán (M.E.Ch.A.) de CSUF presents an all-day celebration with activities, including sugar skull decorating, a paper crafts workshop, face painting and an altar exhibition competition with prizes.

Performers include: 
• 12:30 p.m. Ballet Folklórico de CSUF
• 6 p.m. Son Jarocho
• 8 p.m. Danza Azteca

Wednesday, Nov. 2, 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. — Humanities-Social Sciences Building plaza

The Chicana Chicano Studies Alliance, Xicanx Feminist Alliance, Hermanos Unidos and Latino Business Student Association present a full lineup of festivities, including musical and dance performances, a professor spotlight and a candlelight vigil.

Scheduled performers include: Danza Azteca, Ballet Folklórico de CSUF and Mariachi.

Both events are co-sponsored by Associated Student Inc.’s Association for InterCultural Awareness.

On-campus parking at 800 N. State College Blvd., Fullerton, is $8 per vehicle for the day/evening or $2 per hour in “Park and Pay” spaces. Details are available online.
