Texas Rio Grande Valley, who recently received the prestigious Alfredo G. de los Santos Jr. Distinguished Leadership in Higher Education Award at the annual American Association of Hispanics in Higher Education (AAHHE) conference.

The award, given to an outstanding administrator in higher education, is named after a research professor at Arizona State University regarded as a national leader and mentor.

Rodríguez was nominated by several UTPA faculty members and other distinguished faculty nationwide.
