Massachusetts college postpones finals after threat received

SOMERVILLE, Mass. (AP) — Students at Tufts University are being told to stay in their dorms or at home and final exams have been postponed while authorities investigate a car fire and bomb threat on campus.

The university in Medford and Somerville closed several buildings on Monday morning after the threatening note was discovered.

The university said in a statement that the buildings were evacuated and "multiple law enforcement agencies are actively working to clear" them.

All non-essential campus workers were sent home.

A decision on afternoon exams and activities has not yet been made.

The threat was found on a building while firefighters were responding to a car on Professors Row, a street than runs through campus.
