Riverdale, N.Y. September 10, 2015. The College of Mount Saint Vincent has been recognized as one of The Other College Guides Best Bang for the Buck, a ranking of four-year institutions that are the best value based on net price, retention and graduation rates, and graduate earnings. The Other College Guide is a new college guidebook, developed by Washington Monthly, featuring a ranking system that has been applied to more than 1,500 four-year schools and broken down by region. Measuring outcomes, rather than inputs, the ranking system is an essential tool for lower-income, first-generation, and minority students.
The College was ranked 51 out of 402 institutions in the Northeast region. The listing is based on the best available data focusing on what really matters, which according to their website, includes the questions: which schools will charge you a fair price and not bury you in debt? (Looking beyond the sticker price.) Which help students graduate? (Going to college but not getting a degree is an almost complete waste of a students time and money.) Which provide degrees that allow you to earn a decent income? (Students should at least have enough to pay off student loans, and hopefully a whole lot more.) The Other College Guide provides realistic information designed to help students navigate the process safely and successfully, providing a set of guidelines to help students find the right school and excel once they get there.
