New Jersey college offers mini-horses to ease exam stress

MONTCLAIR, N.J. (AP) — Miniature horses are helping to ease exam anxiety for students on one New Jersey college campus.

Two spent Thursday in the Montclair State University's student center. Michelangelo measures 31 inches from the floor and Rafael stands at 28 inches.

They are part of the equine therapy program at Hope's Promise in Chester.

Freshman art major Piper Jannicelli of Roxbury tells NJ.com (http://bit.ly/1M7665W ) she has been stressed out all week and "seeing a little horse just makes everything a little better in the world."

Hope's Promise director Maureen Coultas says the horses' touch and energy have a calming nature.
