Mung Chiang

The Purdue Board of Trustees has elected Dr. Mung Chiang, currently the John A. Edwardson dean of engineering and executive vice president for strategic initiatives, as the university’s next president effective January 1, 2023. Chiang earned a B.S. (Hons.) in electrical engineering and mathematics, and an M.S. and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Stanford University. He came to Purdue from Princeton University, where he served as the Arthur LeGrand professor of electrical engineering.

Jason Anderson

Arizona College of Nursing has announced that Jason Anderson has joined the organization as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Anderson comes to Arizona College of Nursing from Modivcare Home, where he served as president. Previously he was CEO of VRI, a leading provider of remote patient monitoring solutions. Anderson has more than 15 years of experience as a senior executive in the healthcare industry. Anderson holds a Master of Business Administration from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Notre Dame.

Stacey Patterson

Florida State University has appointed Stacey Patterson as the next university’s vice president for research effective October 15, 2022. Patterson has served as the vice president for research, outreach and economic development in the University of Tennessee system and as president of the UT Research Foundation since 2017. Patterson earned her bachelor’s degree from UT Knoxville in biological sciences, followed by a master’s degree in environmental health science from East Tennessee State University and a doctorate in microbiology from UT Knoxville.

Darnell Hunt

Darnell Hunt, the dean of the division of social sciences and a professor of sociology and African American studies, has been appointed UCLA’s next executive vice chancellor and provost. After beginning his academic career on the sociology faculty at USC, he joined UCLA in 2001 as a professor of sociology and director of the Ralph J. Bunche Center for African American Studies. He led the Bunche Center from 2001 to 2017, and additionally served as chair of the sociology department from 2015 to 2017. Hunt earned his A.B. in journalism at the University of Southern California, his M.B.A. at Georgetown University, and his Master of Arts and doctorate in sociology at UCLA.

LaRue A. Pierce

Westfield State University has appointed LaRue A. Pierce as vice president for justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion. Recently, Pierce served as dean of students at University of Wisconsin -Eau Claire. As assistant vice president/dean of students at Springfield Technical Community College, he served as a member of the Hispanic Serving Institution Planning Committee and was chair of the Student Success Council. Pierce holds a master’s degree in education and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology both from the University of Wisconsin – Stout. He is currently completing an Ed.D. in educational leadership at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota.

Brian McAulay

Logan University has selected Brian McAulay, DC, PhD, as Logan’s new vice president of academic affairs. Dr. McAulay comes to Logan from South University in Savannah, Georgia, where he served as vice chancellor for academic affairs for a seven-campus system. Dr. McAulay has served in academic leadership roles for Life University, Palmer College and Sherman College, and as president of Parker University. Dr. McAulay holds a Bachelor’s of Commerce from the University of Toronto, a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the Pennsylvania College of Chiropractic and a PhD in business and management from Temple University’s Fox School of Business.
