California State University, Los Angeles (Cal State LA) summer enrollment has reached new heights thanks to a new year-round Pell Grant. The new grant opportunity supports not only summer enrollment but timely graduation. Cal State LA has almost doubled their summer population thanks to the Federal financial aid improvements.
California State University, Los Angeles (Cal State LA) summer enrollment has reached new heights thanks to a new year-round Pell Grant. The new grant opportunity supports not only summer enrollment but timely graduation.
Cal State LA has almost doubled their summer population thanks to the Federal financial aid improvements. Congress approved changes to the Pell Grants last year for low and moderate-income students.
This is the first summer of Pell Grants. The increase in aid is also allowing students to take multiple courses in the summer.
Pell Grants are among the most helpful aid awarded during the academic year. Qualifying Pell Grant students can now offset the price of summer tuition by using part of their grant money in the summer if they take at least six credits.
The new grants are providing up to $2,960 for tuition, books, transportation and other expenses to students. This is helping students to earn their degrees without interruption avoiding more loans.
