Ohio student struck by lightning to graduate Saturday

DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — A college student who was struck by lightning last spring in southwest Ohio and had to struggle to walk again is ready to graduate from the University of Dayton.

Sean Ferguson of Pittsburgh spent months in rehab healing from broken bones and burns. The 23-year-old marketing major returned to campus in August and will be able to walk across the stage at Saturday's commencement with some 650 classmates.

He was walking home in Dayton in April when he was struck by lightning. Several passers-by rushed to help him, and one gave him CPR.

He says he'll leave the university touched by all the support he's received both at school and from around the country.

A staffing agency position awaits him in Pittsburgh.
