Editor’s Note: One of the longest running and most famous comic strips in the world is now offering Spanish-language lesson plans for K-8 students sheltering in because of COVID-19.

As parents nationwide try to find new ways to keep their children engaged in learning during the coronavirus crisis, help comes – at no cost – from a familiar and beloved source: Snoopy! 

Peanuts Worldwide, via the peanuts.com website, is offering free Spanish-language educational materials that give students from Kindergarten through eighth grade the chance to develop their STEM, language arts, and social studies skills with the help of Snoopy, Charlie Brown, and the whole Peanuts Gang. (The lesson plans are available in both Latin American and European Spanish.)

Several of the lesson plans feature Astronaut Snoopy exploring the thrill and science of space travel, and are complemented by the new series “Snoopy in Space” on Apple TV+. Both were created in collaboration with NASA. 

In other Peanuts online lesson plans, students can partner with Charlie Brown’s baseball teammates to sharpen their math skills; celebrate spring with the Peanuts gang while completing science, language arts, and math exercises; and learn about persistence – and enhance their own – through lessons from Charlie Brown, who never gave up trying to kick that football! 

Finally, all the online educational materials were developed by the award-winning curriculum specialists at Young Minds Inspired (YMI).

The Spanish-language lesson plans are currently accessible via the homepage at peanuts.com. And when kids and their parents are ready for a relaxing mental break, Peanuts also offers free out-of-this-world coloring pages featuring Astronaut Snoopy and his crew.

Cuando padres de todo el país buscan encontrar la manera de que sus hijos aprendan durante la crisis del coronavirus, la ayuda llega, gratis, de una fuente conocida y adorada: ¡Snoopy!

Peanuts Worldwide, a través del sitio web peanuts.com, ofrece materiales educativos gratis en idioma español con los que niños desde jardín de infantes hasta 8.º grado pueden desarrollar sus habilidades en las áreas de STEM, Lengua y Ciencias Sociales, gracias a la ayuda de Snoopy, Charlie Brown y todo el equipo de Peanuts. (Los planes de clases se encuentran disponibles tanto en español de Latinoamérica como de Europa).

En otros planes de clases en línea de Peanuts, los alumnos pueden trabajar con los compañeros del equipo de béisbol de Charlie Brown para mejorar sus capacidades matemáticas; celebrar la primavera con el equipo de Peanuts haciendo ejercicios de ciencia, lengua y matemáticas; y aprender acerca de la persistencia (mejorando la propia) mediante lecciones de Charlie Brown, quien ¡jamás se ha dado por vencido al intentar patear ese balón!
