Police search for man seen with gun on SUNY Purchase campus
PURCHASE, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities are searching for a man seen with a gun on the SUNY Purchase campus.
Provost Barry Pearson said at a press conference Sunday that students, staff and residents were advised to stay indoors. He says the suspect apparently fled and no shots were fired on or near the college campus.
The university emailed students around 8:45 p.m. telling them that police had received a report of a possible armed suspect who fled campus into the woods. They urged students to stay indoors.
No arrests have been made.
He says classes will be on a normal schedule Monday.
