President Obama’s Supreme Court Nominee’s Harvard Connection Plus Latest Presidential Primaries Results

President Obama announced today that he has chosen Chief Judge Merrick Brian Garland as his Supreme Court Justice nominee.  A member of the Executive Committee of the Judicial Conference of the United States, Garland served as the President of the Board of Overseers of Harvard University. In addition, he taught at Harvard Law School and has been published in the Harvard Law Review as well as the Yale Law Journal. 

In other news, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton led the latest presidential primaries. Including last night’s results, Trump now has a total of 646 delegates, and Clinton now has a total combination of 1,599 pledged delegates and superdelegates. 

Of the remaining Republican candidates, Ted Cruz now has a total of 397 delegates, and John Kasich now has a total of 142 delegates.  Former presidential candidate Marco Rubio has officially dropped out of the race.
