March 18, 2016, Dearborn, Mich. — Registration for Spring & Summer classes at Henry Ford College (HFC) begins at midnight on Tuesday, March 21. 

Students and prospective students can take a look at the classes being offered for the spring and summer semesters by visiting (www.hfcc.edu/webadvisor). This is the same website they will use to register for classes on March 21. It is best that students register early to get the best choice of classes.

The Spring 2016 Semester at HFC begins Tuesday, May 10. This is also the LAST day to add classes or register for spring classes. No late registration or re-registrations will be accepted after May 10. This is also the last day to drop classes and receive a refund. Further, there will be no enrollment in developmental classes following the first class meeting. 

Wednesday, May 11, is the final day to receive refunds for dropped spring classes; there will be no refunds after May 11. It is also the last day for no notations on a student’s transcript that a class/classes has been dropped. The first day of withdrawal for the Spring 2016 Semester is Thursday, May 12. A withdrawal status in the form of a “W” will appear on a student’s transcript. The last day to withdraw from the Spring 2016 Semester is Wednesday, June 8. 

The Spring 2016 Semester at HFC ends Monday, June 27. This is also the LAST day to add classes or register for summer classes. No late registration or re-registrations will be accepted after Tuesday, June 28. Also, this is also the last day to drop classes and receive a refund; there will be no refunds for summer classes after Wednesday, June 29.

There are many reasons to enroll at HFC. First and foremost, with so many other colleges and universities in the Metro Detroit area increasing their tuition, the cost of HFC’s tuition remains unchanged for the spring and summer 2016 semesters. HFC still offers affordable tuition for students. 

Further, the College offers a Tuition Freeze Guarantee (TFG). This guarantees that a student’s tuition rate will be frozen if they graduate from HFC within four years. Any tuition increase will be refunded upon graduation within that time-frame when the student applies for a refund.
HFC’s Transfer Credit Guarantee (TCG) will refund 100 percent of a student’s tuition if any of the courses they complete at HFC with a grade of a “C” or better fail to transfer to another college or university. 

With its Job Skills Guarantee (JSG), HFC guarantees all students will have the technical skills expected of entry-level employees. Any graduate of an associate degree program who is judged by his or her employer as lacking in technical job skills normally expected of an entry-level employee will be provided further skills training from HFC of up to 16 credit hours at no charge.

Additionally, HFC guarantees that no classes will be cancelled throughout the semester for students who have registered and paid their tuition. Whether you’re a recent high school graduate, a military veteran who wishes to earn your college degree, or a professional seeking career training, HFC offers the resources to help you succeed. 

Further, HFC has exceptional University Center partnerships with Madonna University, Siena Heights University (SHU) and Eastern Michigan University (EMU). Students can take classes at HFC, then transfer to one of the above-mentioned universities where they can take classes through said universities on the HFC campus. These partnerships help students save money, work toward their undergraduate degree and remain close to home. Other benefits include the availability of evening, weekend and hybrid classes; personalized advising; and transfer-friendly policies and guarantees. 

Other successful partnerships include the Henry Ford Early College (HFEC) and the Henry Ford Collegiate Academy (HFCA). Additionally, HFC signed a Reverse Transfer Agreement (RTA) with Walsh College in Troy in 2015. 

The HFEC launched in 2007 and is comprised of HFC, Dearborn Public Schools and Henry Ford Health System (HFHS) in coordination with Wayne County Regional Educational Service Agency (RESA) and the State Board of Education. HFEC earned a ranking in the 99th percentile of the Top-to-Bottom rankings of Michigan schools in recent years. As a result, HFEC is among the top four schools in Wayne County and the only high school in the group. The goal of HFEC is to prepare students for employment opportunities in health careers. The HFCA is another partnership between HFC and Dearborn Public Schools. This effort provides students a chance to earn BOTH a high school diploma and an associate degree in only five years at NO COST to parents or students. Students enter the program at the start of their junior year, based on their scores on the PLAN test taken their sophomore year. Music, athletics, clubs, commencement ceremonies, honors night, prom and all other relevant activities are still a part of their high school experience when enrolled in the HFCA. HFC’s RTA with Walsh allows students the opportunity to transfer coursework from Walsh to HFC to potentially earn an associate degree. This agreement applies to HFC students who have completed a minimum of 20 credit hours at HFC but have transferred to Walsh before earning an associate degree. 

HFC has also been declared a Military Friendly School for the fourth consecutive year. In fact, HFC is in the Top 15 Percent of colleges, universities and trade schools nationwide working to ensure the educational success of America’s military service members, veterans and spouses.
