North Carolina lawmakers have approved spending $400 million to aid communities and people impacted by Hurricane Florence. An additional $450 million is being set aside for upcoming needs. Moneys include $95 million for public schools, universities and community colleges. About $7 million will help college and university students remain enrolled.

Free College Tuition Up For Grabs At Robotics Competition

A robotics competition taking place at Plymouth State University is giving 50 New Hampshire high school students a chance to earn a free semester. The competition will feature more than 20 teams, and beyond the one-semester scholarship, five students will receive scholarships worth $2,000 each.

Murray State University is offering tuition discounts for military students who are pursuing either an undergraduate degree or a graduate degree. The university is providing free textbooks, waving course fees and matching remaining tuition costs that are not covered by the U.S. Department of Defense Military Tuition Assistance Program.
