Two new reports released for 10th Annual Latina/o Education Summit at UCLA

The Chicano Studies Research Center (CSRC) will release two reports on Friday, November 6, to coincide with the tenth convening of its annual Latina/o Education Summit.

  • POLICY BRIEF: Racial Microaggressions: What They Are, What They Are Not, and Why They Matter examines the role of racial microaggressions as a significant obstacle in the educational, professional, and life trajectories of Latinas/os. The authors present models for understanding racial microaggressions and recommendations for disrupting them.
  • RESEARCH REPORT: Still Falling Through the Cracks:  Revisiting the Latina/o Education Pipeline surveys ten years of research findings produced for the Latina/o Education Summit, revealing the slow rate of progress for Latino students set against an exponential increase in the Latino population in the state.
  • BACKGROUND: The CSRC Latina/o Education Summit at UCLA brings together scholars, educators, community representatives, policy makers, administrators, and students to explore viable policy recommendations
