KAPLAN TEST PREP SURVEY: COLLEGE ADMISSIONS OFFICERS SAY SOCIAL MEDIA INCREASINGLY AFFECTS APPLICANTS’ CHANCES

Kaplan Test Prep’s latest survey of more than 350 college admissions officers from across the United States finds that while the percentage of admissions officers who check applicants’ social media profiles has dipped (35 percent versus 40 percent last year), a greater percentage of those who do check say social media has influenced their views on applicants.

In partnership with CNN, the Newseum opened “CNN Politics Campaign 2016: Like, Share, Elect,” a new interactive exhibit that tells the story of the 2016 presidential campaign in real time. The exhibit offers an immersive experience that allows visitors to explore the ways big data and social media have transformed how candidates campaign, how journalists cover elections and how the public participates in the political process.
