Serving Parenting Students: Rethinking Equity in Higher Education

Parenting students remain largely invisible in higher education despite representing a significant share of college populations. Applying the concept of “servingness” can help institutions recognize and support student parents, as demonstrated by California State Polytechnic University, Pomona’s efforts to create more inclusive, family-responsive campus environments.
