New University Medical Program Seeks to Diversify Physicians in Omaha

Two local University of Nebraska institutions have teamed up to create a program to diversify Omaha's physician population. The Urban Health Opportunities Program will provide tuition and other benefits to undergraduate students at the University of Nebraska at Omaha who want to be doctors in Omaha, particularly in the northeast and southeast parts of the city.

Learning Ally announces College Success Program for blind or visually impaired college students

According to the National Federation of the Blind, of the 1.3 million legally blind individuals in the U.S., only 29 percent go to college, while only 12 percent earn a Bachelor's Degree or higher. With these challenges in mind, Learning Ally recently launched its College Success Program (CSP) specifically for students attending institutions of higher education who are blind or visually impaired.

Investor to Donate $75M to Higher Education Philosophy Program

William H. "Bill" Miller III is donating $75 million to Johns Hopkins University's philosophy department in a record-setting gift to the university's humanities programs. Miller's donation will be used to increase the department's full-time faculty and create nine endowed professorships. $10 million will be allocated for graduate students and post-doctoral fellows, and the university anticipates offering new undergraduate courses.

3 Halls Open Around Notre Dame Stadium, Completing Higher Education Institution’s $400M Project

With the opening Monday of three academic halls attached to Notre Dame Stadium, the University of Notre Dame's massive $400 million Campus Crossroads project is complete, integrating the iconic football venue with everyday student life. The nine-floor Duncan Student Center, on the west side of the stadium, features new recreation, academic and extracurricular spaces for Notre Dame students, faculty and staff.
