President Donald Trump is planning to dispatch 800 or more troops to the U.S.-Mexico border as a caravan consisting of thousands of migrants continues to travel through Mexico towards the United States. The caravan is currently more than 1,000 miles from U.S. soil.

Person Detained In The Mail-Bomb Case

A man in his 50s has been arrested in connection with the mail-bomb scare. Federal authorities made the arrest in Florida. Currently, the scare involves 12 suspicious packages that were mail to critics of President Donald Trump, including former President Barack Obama, former Vice President Joe Biden and Trump’s opponent in the presidential election Hillary Clinton.

A 26-year-old Honduran migrant was killed at a border crossing from a rubber bullet hitting him in the head, according to Guatemalan firefighters. Mexican Interior Secretary Alfonso Navarrete Prida has denied that Mexico’s forces were responsible and said that his country’s federal police and immigration agents were attacked.

US Sending 5,200 Troops To Border

As the migrant caravan continues to make its way towards, the Pentagon is sending 2,500 troops to the U.S.-Mexico border. This number is more than double the 2,000 troops who are currently in Syria to fight the Islamic State group.
