The LARES program at the University of Illinois Chicago, established in 1975, recruits and supports Latino students, fostering leadership and academic success. Its initiatives have significantly increased Latino student enrollment and retention, earning recognition and solidifying UIC’s role in Latino education.

The LCDEF‘s premiere BoardReady Institute (BRI) is a comprehensive program uniquely designed to prepare and position aspiring directors for boardroom success. There is no other programming of this scope focused on accelerating the preparation, development, and placement of highly credentialed Latinos who are aspiring directors onto the highest levels of corporate governance.

The study examines how identity-based acculturation and place of birth influence the relationship between traumatic stress due to family separation and depression in Latine college students. It found that U.S. Identity and being foreign-born moderate this relationship, affecting depressive symptoms.
