Caravan Treated To Screening Of “Coco”

The caravan of immigrant asylum seekers traveling through Mexico was treated last week to an outdoor screening of “Coco” when the caravan stopped at an unfinished bus terminal-turned-shelter in the state of Oaxaca. Thanks to solar power, the goodwill of the townspeople and resources from the local government the migrant travelers found a safe place to sleep, eat and enjoy Pixar’s “Coco."

The migrant caravan is currently traveling towards Mexico City where the group hopes to regroup, rest and seek medical care. At this time it is no clear how many individuals in the caravan might splinter off on their own, as well as what part of the United States border the caravan will eventually aim for once it completes its journey through Mexico.

Virginia Awards Record Number Of College Degrees In 2017-18

Virginia awarded 119,980 college degrees during the 2017-2018 school year, an increase of roughly 1,000 from the previous year. These degrees included undergraduate degrees, graduate degrees and undergraduate certificates. The numbers also included 24,655 science, technology, engineering, math and health (STEM-H) degrees.

College Student Works To Bring Others To The Polls

University of Connecticut-Stamford student Michael Hernandez is a few months away from getting his green card and so is not eligible to vote in tomorrow’s midterms. Instead, the 19-year-old is trying to encourage people to vote, including through a web series of sorts on his Facebook page.

Actresses Eva Longoria, America Ferrera, Rosario Dawson, Gina Rodriguez and Zoe Saldana visited Little Havana on Sunday to encourage people to vote in tomorrow’s midterm elections. "This cause of getting people out to vote is one of the most important things we can do as citizens," Longoria told the Associated Press.
