Mississippi State University is getting $7 million to build a new two-mile north-south road with sidewalks, bike lanes, and street lighting along the eastern edge of campus. University President Mark Keenum says in a news release that the project is important both to ease traffic problems and to help the campus grow.

School Shooting Suspect Indicted On 17 Counts Of Murder [Breaking Education News]

Florida school shooting suspect Nikolas Cruz was formally charged Wednesday with 17 counts of first-degree murder, which could mean a death sentence if he is convicted. The indictment also charges him with 17 counts of attempted murder for the Valentine's Day massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland in which 17 people died and more than a dozen others were wounded.

Delta Community Credit Union announces a call for entries in its annual scholarship program. Five applicants will be awarded a total of $20,000 based on academic achievement, community involvement and submission of an essay on a subject selected by the Credit Union. The program provides funds to cover tuition, books, housing and other expenses.
