In this article we answer the following questions: 1º What are the best paying careers? 2º What careers make you rich? 3º how to be rich studying a career?
With unemployment at an all-time high in the U.S. thanks to the novel coronavirus pandemic, this question is prominent on many people’s minds. For those who not only have lost their job but see their industry taking a possibly long-term severe blow because of COVID-19, a career change is a logical option to consider. And since a loss of income is also more than likely at this point, find a job that has a high probability of a large salary is also an extremely logical next step.
But what are the highest paying career paths?
While the pandemic means current data may fluctuate more rapidly than normal, the still recent data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics can offer some guidance in what jobs may yield higher salaries. The following is from the Bureau’s highest paying occupations from 2018. Despite the year that this chart was compiled, it is noteworthy that the top nine jobs listed are in the medical field, which right now during the pandemic has become more crucial and in demand than ever.
This wage is equal to or greater than $208,000 per year
This wage is equal to or greater than $208,000 per year
This wage is equal to or greater than $208,000 per year
This wage is equal to or greater than $208,000 per year
This wage is equal to or greater than $208,000 per year
This wage is equal to or greater than $208,000 per year
Those with careers in this category can earn $201,100 per year
Those with careers in this category can earn $200,890 per year
Those with careers in this category can earn $194,500 per year
Those with careers in this category can earn $189,600 per year
As always, we emphasize that the term “rich” is very subjective. A salary that would be “rich” for one person would be lacking for another. However, here are some other careers from the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ highest paying careers list:
Those with careers in this category can earn $176,540 per year
Those with careers in this category can earn $170,560 per year
Those with careers in this category can earn $167,950 per year
Once again, this is a very subjective question. What career is chosen, the level amount of education and training needed, the school one attends, and many other factors can impact someone’s financial state while studying a career. Scholarships, financial aid and paid internships are all ways to make yourself more financially sound while preparing for a career. But the most important thing to remember is the time and money being invested now is because you are working towards being financially stable (and hopefully being fulfilled on a more personal level) later.
So in the end, the most important question is not only what are the highest paying careers, but also what high paying career is right for me?
