The 28th annual CUNY Big Apple Job & Internship Fair, hosted by The City University of New York, will be the largest in the last ten years, with 115 private and public sector organizations recruiting from among the expected thousands of CUNY graduating students and recent alumni looking for full-time positions, and current students seeking internships and part-time job opportunities.

Maria Torres-Springer, President and CEO of the New York City Economic Development Corporation, will deliver the keynote address at a breakfast reception for recruiters prior to the Fair.

The CUNY Big Apple Job & Internship Fair will be held on Friday, April 22, 2016 from 11 am – 2 pm in the River Pavilion and Galleria at the Jacob Javits Center, Manhattan. (Enter at 11th Avenue between 34th and 35th Streets).

Nearly 92% of CUNY students are employed or continuing their education, or both, within three years of graduation.  The vast majority of graduates continue to reside, work and pay taxes in New York.

Chancellor James B. It also offers remarkable employment and internship opportunities for our students and alumni.”

The Big Apple Fair also includes a CUNY graduate and professional programs fair, providing students with an opportunity to investigate advanced degrees. Since employers often offer employees some sort of tuition reimbursement, this aspect of the Fair is especially appropriate for many attendees.

Among the organizations that will be represented at the Big Apple Fair are healthcare systems; city, state and federal agencies; financial services firms; nonprofit social service agencies; IT and telecommunications firms; and educational organizations. Additionally, a number of CUNY programs also recruit at the fair.

Students and alumni do not need to sign-up for the Big Apple Fair in advance. Graduating CUNY students are advised to visit their college Career Services office for assistance preparing for the Fair. On April 22nd they need only present an updated résumé and show a current CUNY college ID for admission. CUNY alumni should present their résumés to gain admission. Professional business attire is required: for men a tie, suit, sports jacket and slacks; for women a suit/dress or skirt and jacket. No casual attire.

The Hon. Freida D. Foster, a member of the CUNY Board of Trustees, will deliver greetings from the Board at the breakfast reception, which will be held from 9:30 am to 10:45 am in the River Pavilion at the Javits Center. Jay Hershenson, Secretary of the Board of Trustees and Senior Vice Chancellor for University Relations, will moderate the program. Will Simpkins, Co-President of the Career Services Association of CUNY and Director of Career Services at John Jay College, will deliver greetings from the Association; while Pat Gray, Job Fair Coordinator and Director of Corporate Relations & Special Events, Office of University Relations, will close with information for recruiters.
