President Barack Obama is reassuring millions of people that they don't need to fear immediate deportation. The Supreme Court's tie vote effectively kills Obama's plan to shield millions more immigrants in the U.S. illegally from deportation and granted them work permits. But Obama says the opinion doesn't change his administration's enforcement priorities.

35 New U.S. Citizens Sworn In at Historic Liberty Hall Museum at Kean University

Liberty Hall Museum at Kean University, the historic home of New Jersey’s first governor, was a fitting backdrop for a U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services’ Naturalization Ceremony on Monday, June 20. Thirty-five immigrants from 22 countries were sworn in as citizens of the United States outside the home of William Livingston, which has welcomed nine U.S. presidents, including George Washington as he headed to New York City for the nation’s first inauguration.

SLCC Advisor Chosen for National Award

Salt Lake Community College advisor Héctor E. Cando was chosen by the National Association of Academic Advisors (NACADA) to receive its Outstanding Advising Certificate of Merit in the Academic Advising—Primary Role category. The award is given to advisors who demonstrate qualities associated with outstanding academic advising of students and whose role at their institutions are the direct delivery of advising to students. Cando will receive the award this fall at NACADA’s annual conference in Atlanta.

UC Davis Student Takes Father’s Lessons to Heart, Named Top Graduate

University of California, Davis, student Lucydalila Cedillo grew up in East Los Angeles in a home without books, collected recyclable cans with her mother to help support the household and didn’t know anyone who had gone to college. But on morning rides to middle school, she took to heart what her father told her about the importance of learning.

CUNY Launches Major Voter Registration and Education Campaign

The non-partisan CUNY campaign will utilize the University's website (www.cuny.edu/vote), CUNY-TV, email messages, and social media platforms, as well as the efforts of nearly 30 voter registration coordinators that will be organizing college activities to register students by March 25–the deadline for the April 19 Presidential Primary in New York.
