Rutgers Receives Largest Scholarship Gift In University’s History

Rutgers Alumnus Richard N. Weeks has made the largest scholarship gift to the university ever. Weeks who graduated Rutgers in 1950 has committed $10 million to support undergraduate scholarships at the Rutgers School of Engineering helping them to pursue careers in the profession.

Couple Pledge $1M To Cancer Research At University

The University of Toledo is going to be expanding its pancreatic cancer research thanks to a $1 million gift from, Hal and Susan Fetterman, a couple from Ohio. The money is setting up the UTMC Pancreatic Cancer Research Innovation Fund and honors Hal Fetterman's sister, Joyce Schwyn, and three friends all of whom died from pancreatic cancer.

San Antonio College President Assumes Presidency Of National Organization To Advance Latinx Leaders In Higher Education

Dr. Robert Vela, president of San Antonio College, recently began a two-year term as president of the National Community Colleges Hispanic Council (NCCHC), an affiliate council of the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC), that works to advance Latinx leaders in higher education. Dr. Vela assumes the role of president after previously serving two years as president-elect, two years as secretary and another two years as a board member.
