Bryant U's Men's Basketball Team Safe in Italy after Earthquake

Officials say Bryant University's men's basketball team is safe and unharmed in Italy after a 6.2-magnitude earthquake rocked three regions of the country earlier this week. Tremors from the quake woke the Bulldogs coaching staff and players at their hotel in Rome when it struck at about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday. The team is currently touring Italy for a series of exhibition games.

Auburn Alumni Association Helps Recreate Landmark Ice Cream Shop

A building resembling the old ice cream shop, popularly known as "Sani-Flush" or "The Flush," has been constructed at the Auburn Alumni Center and will serve ice cream from Opelika's O-Town Ice Cream. The new building was created by the Auburn Alumni Association and the College of Architecture, Design and Construction. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held for the replica at the Alumni Center on Tuesday.

Cal State System Pushing Students to Graduate in 4 Years

Incoming freshmen at a recent orientation at California State University, Sacramento were greeted with a "Class of 2020" welcoming banner and administrators wearing green-and-white buttons reading: "Ask me how to finish in four." The buttons represent a mission aimed at improving dismal four-year completion rates not just at that campus but throughout the California State University system.

Vincennes University Opens New $4M Student Center Complex

Vincennes University students who resume fall classes this week will be able to explore the campus' new $4 million student center that includes fireplaces, a sports lounge and a bowling center. The newly finished student center opened Thursday in Vincennes, located about 40 miles north of Evansville. Fall classes begin at the school Monday.

University's 1st Year Law Students Take on 17 Local Projects

Nearly 200 first-year law students at the University of South Carolina are heading to 17 locations around Columbia to take part in efforts to serve the local community. Friday's event marks the eighth year incoming students take part in such an effort, which Dean Rob Wilcox calls a hallmark of the School of Law's education.

The Sister Rose Thering Fund for Education in Jewish-Christian Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences at Seton Hall University has selected Clare Giangreco, M.A. ’00 as its new program manager. Giangreco brings more than 35 years of professional experience in both ministerial and corporate leadership roles, as well as personal interest in the Fund’s mission.
