Financing May 2018 UMaine System Increasing Tuition By Nearly 3 Percent In Fall [Education News] Tuition is going up a little less than 3 percent around the University of Maine System this coming fall. The Portland Press Herald reports tuition, fees and room and board at the system's seven campuses will go up by an average of $466, which is 2.9 percent. The numbers were presented on Wednesday to the finance committee of the system's trustees.
Global May 2018 Transport Plane That Crashed In Georgia Was On Final Trip [Beyond Education] An aging C-130 Hercules that rescued and resupplied U.S. citizens after last year's hurricanes crashed onto a highway in Georgia during what was supposed to be its final flight, killing all nine Puerto Ricans on board. The huge plane was being flown into retirement in Arizona, reducing Puerto Rico's National Guard fleet to five similar planes, two of which need maintenance and aren't being used.
