Hispanic Community October 2024 Riverland Community College: A Beacon of Opportunity and Growth in Southeastern Minnesota Riverland Community College, founded in 1996, plays a vital role in southeastern Minnesota’s workforce development and education. Administration June 2016 Stevens Names Dr. Christophe Pierre as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Stevens Institute of Technology has selected Dr. Christophe Pierre, Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University of Illinois, to serve in the role of Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs effective September 1, 2016. The announcement follows a nationwide search and intensive selection process. In this role, Pierre will serve as an officer of the university and its second highest-ranking administrator.
Financing June 2016 12 Northern California Schools to Split $50 Million Donation The Koret Foundation has donated $50 million to split between 12 Northern California colleges and universities for scholarships and to fund improved technology and research. The San Francisco Chronicle reports (http://bit.ly/1Yttc0J ) that the foundation has not specified where the money should be used and instead asked schools where they needed the most help. Koret President Michael Boskin says the campuses are free to spend the money as needed in hopes of helping underserved populations at each individual institution.
Global June 2016 UPDATE: Presidential Primaries Hillary Clinton won Washington, D.C. in yesterday's presidential primaries and has exceeded the number of delegates needed for the Democratic Party's presidential nomination. Clinton now has a combined total of 2,800 pledged delegates and superdelegates. The number needed for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination is 2,383. On the Republican Party’s side, Donald Trump has a total of 1,542 delegates. The number needed for the Republican Party’s presidential nomination is 1,237.

It’s been four years since the university “threw the switch” for a photovoltaic installation on the rooftops of the Clayes Performing Arts Center, the Kinesiology and Health Science Building and the Eastside Parking Structure.

Data for this list was pulled from College Factual, a higher education information hub. The ten colleges and universities featured are ranked in a number of different ways, including how the needs of adult students are met.
Global June 2016 Family Says UNR Football Player Presumed Dead Died a Hero The parents of a University of Nevada, Reno football player from Honolulu who is presumed to have drowned in Lake Tahoe say their son died trying to save others. Rescue crews called off their search for Marc Ma on Monday, but officials say efforts to recover his body will continue. Ma, 20, had been on a paddle board trip with several football players on Friday when the group encountered strong winds off Lake Tahoe's west shore. Ma's board was found adrift.
