President Trump has declared that he wants to issue an executive order to end the constitutional right to citizenship for anyone born in the U.S. to non-citizens. All children born in the U.S. are guaranteed the right to citizenship under the 14th Amendment.

The initiative is designed to incorporate the role technology plays in teaching and learning. Pittsburgh Synagogue Suspect Pleads Not Guilty

Robert Bowers, the suspect in the synagogue shooting where 11 people were killed, has pled not guilty to federal charges which could lead to the death penalty. This comes one day after a 44-count indictment was issued by a grand jury. Counts include hate crimes, murder and obstructing the practice of religion.

The University of Maine Foundation has had a record fundraising year, receiving pledges and gifts totally $36.9 million, which is a 115 percent increase from the previous year. The fundraising brought the foundation’s "Vision for Tomorrow" drive to above $160 million.

Actresses Eva Longoria, America Ferrera, Rosario Dawson, Gina Rodriguez and Zoe Saldana visited Little Havana on Sunday to encourage people to vote in tomorrow’s midterm elections. "This cause of getting people out to vote is one of the most important things we can do as citizens," Longoria told the Associated Press.

Janice Shufford of Akron has been sentenced to federal prison for nearly seven years for her role in a $1.8 million college loan scheme. The scheme involved enrolling inmates and people who had their identities stolen at Maricopa Community College in Arizona.

Migrants Weigh Whether To Stay In Mexico, Resume Trek To US

The migrant caravan is resting for at least a couple of days in Mexico’s capital as they debate continuing their journey to the United States border or remain in Mexico. The government in Mexico said 2,697 temporary visas have been issued to families and individuals, and Mexico is offering asylum, refugee or work visas to the migrants.

41 Latinos In Congress, 2 Races Still Undecided

Although two races remain undecided, the number of Latinos who will be serving in Congress in 2019 will be rising to at least 41. There were 44 Latino Democratic candidates who ran in the midterm elections, and 33 of those 44 won. There were also 15 Latino Republican candidates who ran, and of those six won.

Motel 6: $7.6 Million For Guests Reported To Immigration

Motel 6 has agreed to pay Latino guests who were reported to immigration by the company’s employees up to $7.6 million. According to the guests and the proposed settlement that was filed in federal court, the company’s employees shared the guests’ private information with immigration officials.
