Free College Tuition Up For Grabs At Robotics Competition

A robotics competition taking place at Plymouth State University is giving 50 New Hampshire high school students a chance to earn a free semester. The competition will feature more than 20 teams, and beyond the one-semester scholarship, five students will receive scholarships worth $2,000 each.

The 2+2 program allows students from Bergen Community College, Brookdale Community College, County College of Morris, Hudson County Community College, Passaic County Community College and Union County College to transfer to Montclair State University.

CUNY Receives A Record $6M In Federal Grants

The City University of New York colleges has received a record $6 million in federal grants for the schools’ Early Childhood Centers (ECCs). These grants will benefit the student-parents that rely on their services. The grant funds enable ECC to be open until 10 p.m. at Bronx Community College where 55 percent have children under five and work while taking classes.

President Trump is continuing to tweet about the migrant caravan that is currently traveling toward the U.S.-Mexico border. The president has denied that he is using the migrant caravan to stoke fear. He has also acknowledged that there is “no proof” of his claim that the group of migrants includes people of Middle Eastern descent.

Drones have been beneficial to journalists to use the technology to report on devastation such as when Hurricane Michael hit the Florida panhandle. Students use drones as powerful new tools in their arsenal in collecting data and witness things they never could before from the ground.

Her talk was entitled, “Untold Stories: A New Beginning in Promoting Intercultural Competence, Social Change, and Inclusion.”
