SUNY Oneonta Alumni Use Letters To Help New Students

SUNY Oneonta implemented a new project that aims to help new students transition into college life with letters from alumni. Seventy letters were written to distribute to freshmen and transfer students. Students received letters from alumni that lived in the exact same dorm room when they attended the college.

A university garden is helping its Minnesota community. St. Mary’s University established its garden a year ago and is currently growing tomatoes, beets, potatoes, onions and asparagus. These produce are donated to the food shelter at Winona Volunteer Services and helps provide free food once a month to low-income residents.

Stockton University To Not Require SAT Scores For Applicants

ACT and SAT scores are no longer requirements for undergraduate applicants at Stockton University. Starting in fall 2019, the school will phase in a test-optional policy. Job News: Oklahoma Approves Record Number Of Emergency Teachers

University Of Utah Reassigns Grad Assistant Over Gun Policy

The University of Utah has reassigned a graduate assistant who was teaching a class at the school because of statements she made about bringing a concealed carry gun to class. The grad assistant stated that it “is absurd, antisocial, and frightening behavior,” and that if any of her students brought a concealed carry gun to class, she would force them to stand in a “3x3 taped square.”
