Teenager Creates Site Giving Children Answers On Deportation [On A Positive Note In Education]

A high school student has designed an online resource to help immigrant children and teenagers learn how to prepare for the possible deportations of parents or guardians. Sixteen-year-old Jody Bell said she came up with the idea after hearing firsthand the concerns of some close friends who were afraid to speak with guidance counselors or adults about their fears surrounding deportation.

California State University Fully Online is offering more than 3,000 online courses to their current students. Through the Graduation Initiative 2025, CSU students can take one free fully-online course offered at another CSU campus every term. CSU fully online opens the door for students to have access to a wide variety of courses that might not be available at their home campus.

Princeton University’s Department of Public Safety Communication Center is one of the first in the nation to deploy a new 911 technology. The new technology allows the capability to have pinpoint-accurate 911 mobile data when Apple introduces its new iPhone later this year. Princeton will be able to access the data for 911 mobile calls made within their jurisdiction.

Google will be coming to LaGuardia Community College in order for New Yorkers to achieve tech literacy and have more access to digital economic opportunities. LaGuardia is one of over 25 Community Colleges in seven states (CA, IL, MI, NY, OH, TX and WI) that are being funded through JFF, a workforce development nonprofit funded by Google.org.

The program will launch this fall at Clint ISD Early College Academy.
